The Civil Rights Movement has been an inspiring and uncertain moment for Black Americans. The campaigns of civil rights leaders and numerous demonstrators of both colors have put laws to a stop to discrimination, Black voter intimidation, and unfair jobs and housing policies.

Another of the strongest accomplishments of the civil rights movement, the Civil Rights Act contributed to greater socioeconomic mobility for African-Americans throughout the country and prohibited racial segregation, ensuring greater access to services for women, ethnic minorities, African-Americans and low-income families. Economists also agree that the civil rights campaign has been an electoral boom.
