I think it means that you shouldn't give up on something because you failed at it once or messed up a few times, because in the end if you succeed is what really matters. I agree because if you give up after failing once then you'll never accomplish anything, but if you keep trying in the end you will succeed. As well as its easy to lose hope if you think you only have one shot at something, but if you think of it this way you will have the motivation or confidence to keep trying or pursuing for whatever it is you want or need.
