(1) The aardvark, an inhabitant of sub-Saharan Africa, feeds almost exclusively on ants and termites that it digs up with its sharp nails and long snout. (2) While it generally moves slowly, it can dig very fast and can eat an amazing number of insects, as many as 50,000 in one night. (3) The aardvark uses its digging power to make burrows where it lives during the day. (4) These burrows can be multi-room complexes with several entrances. (5) No matter how nice its home, after awhile the aardvark will abandon it and go dig a new one. (6) The aardvark is preyed upon by humans, who eat the flesh and use the teeth as decorations, and by other animals. (7) Maybe that’s why it only comes out at night. (8) Its best defense is its tough, thick skin, which is very difficult to pierce. (9) It can grow to weigh as much as one hundred and forty pounds, and can live more than twenty years. (10) Clearly, besides owning the first listing in the zoo’s phone book, the aardvark has many other interesting qualities.

Read the passage from the "general prologue" to the canterbury tales and answer the question. at table she had been well taught withal, and never from her lips let morsels fall, nor dipped her fingers deep in sauce, but ate with so much care the food upon her plate that never driblet fell upon her breast. in courtesy she had delight and zest. her upper lip was always wiped so clean that in her cup was no iota seen of grease, when she had drunk her draught of wine. what can we infer is chaucer's point in including this description of the prioress? to illustrate her commendable manners. to distinguish her from less courteous pilgrims. to show her discomfort at being outside her convent. to emphasize her lack of religious priority
