"Perfect Paragraph" examples and breaking the rules 1. Excerpt from "Only a Girl"
Before my pre-teen era, I always thought of myself as being just a girl. You might think
that is a messed up thing to say, but keep in mind, I was very young and oblivious to all
the power being a female can give you, I was never much of a girly-girl, and preferred to
hang out with the boys. I found that boys didn't talk that much, and I liked the idea of not
having to constantly think of things to say. When I was with girls, I felt I always had to be
on my toes considering how observant they were. Girls just had a way of making me
nervous.
