PLEASE HELPP!!
Read this excerpt from Lord of the Flies.
There was a moment’s struggle and the glimmering conch jigged up and down. Ralph leaped to his feet.
"Jack! Jack! You haven’t got the conch! Let him speak."
Jack’s face swam near him.
"And you be quiet! Who are you, anyway? Sitting there telling people what to do. You can’t hunt, you can’t sing—"
"I’m chief. I was chosen."
"Why should choosing make any difference? Just giving orders that don’t make any sense—"
What does the excerpt indicate about Jack?
He is easily distracted by the concerns of those around him.
He does not have much respect for authority.
He uses kindness to get what he wants from others.
He respects intelligence in others.

"and these i address to all females that would be married, or are already so; not that i suppose their sex more faulty than the other, and most to want advice, for i assure [women], upon my honour, i believe the quite contrary; but the reason is, because i esteem them better disposed to receive and practice it, and therefore am willing to begin, where i may promise myself the best success." this statement from franklin's "rules and maxims for promoting matrimonial happiness" best demonstrates his use of criticism to argue his point his use of common sense to appeal to women his use of flattery to gain women's attention his use of facts to prove his point
