here is a A brief biography

Graham Salisbury was born in Pennsylvania but grew up in Hawaii. Growing up with a distant mother and without a father, who was killed in World War II, Salisbury lacked guidance. His characters explore choices similar to those he faced—making and keeping friends and learning honesty and courage. Their struggles, like Salisbury’s, also take place in a Hawaiian setting. Among his many writing awards are the Boston Globe/Horn Book award and a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year award.

1. in the bold portion of the narrative, the author tries to use a flashback to develop tension. however, the flashback does not create tension. rewrite the flashback scene so it develops tension right at the beginning of the story. (15 points)
