In Lord of the Flies; how does Simon’s death serve to develop Golding’s message about humanity? Explain.

Simon's death is the beginning of the end in the novel. It signifies the end of civilization, and goodness. It is as if "good" is being destroyed. He actually dies as he is trying to explain the "beast" to the other boys.

anyways from what I remember, Simon had died from acting as the "beast" and only simon knew this beast i guess. i remember that he was also trying to warn the other boys and all too. so therefore simon tried to tell the other boys about this beast but instead, the boys took his life, thinking that simon was the beast. so you could say, the boys had killed simon because simon tried to tell them about the beast.
