The phrase “walk in our shoes“ is often used to describe that person should understand what another is going through, or has to deal with. When you are “walking in another’s shoes” you will begin to understand what they have to deal with. This phrase works well with learning about mental health challenges because the person is asking you to understand what they must go through. Someone with a mental health problem may face more difficulties in life because of it. Therefore, this statement teaches us to understand others.
