No, you don't have to. The noun can stand by itself and it will be perfectly fine if its mot described. For example, proper nouns don't have to be described (Mary, Georgia, Barcelona...) . Common nouns on the other hand are mostly described so that the reader knows exactly what we are talking about.

Example:

Lilly took the red rose and placed it in her long, silver hair.

But, if we take out the adjectives (words in bold), the sentence will still work. The only difference is that we won't have a clear picture of what the person wrote.

well stockyards mean a large yard containing pens and sheds, typically adjacent to a slaughterhouse, in which livestock is kept and sorted. and i'm assuming that by party you   mean a large group of people which does make sense because chicago is a very crowded place much like new york. stockyards tend to take up a lot of room due to needing the area for pens to keep animals in and the fact that stockyards are usually right by slaughterhouse where they process and distribute the product. so its much like a zoo but with some dead animal products close by.
