Please help me if you can. How do I be more descriptive, creative, and a bit more suspenseful in this sentence?

"I scanned my room for a weapon. Spying on the ground there were my blue slippers, I grabbed them, my hands were shaking. I moved slowly, getting as close as I could. Before swinging at the spider, I paused to take a deep breath. I was stressed and panicking. In my head, I shouted, "I am bigger than that spider; I will kill that spider!" With a two-handed grip on the slippers, I swung my slippers and pressed it. I let go of my slippers and just then...(I want end the story but I don't know how to. I'm thinking of saying something like I conquered my fears but I just don't know how to end the story)."
