1) There's a sitcom on television—a show about two teenaged twin sisters. The characters are arguing over a pair of running shoes. 2) Suddenly, I am hearing my own voice, arguing with my sister Shemeika years ago. 3) We would fight constantly over who got to drive the car, or who would wear our mother's red heels to parties. "It's my turn!" I'd whine. "Is not!" she'd yell back. 4) She was bigger and older, so she usually got her way. 5) Right now, I'd love to be having one of those arguments again. 6) My sister is in the military—we're lucky if we get one phone call a month. But at least I know she's not wearing those red shoes now!
