We can relate this part we the anguish that people who had everything to be happy and now, they are suffering from different diseases because of climate changes. Then, the part that says "It's colder now for me and you" we can relate this with what's happening in Australia right now. I think this part represent the sadness that the world feels. That's the way I can relate the poem with what's happening now on earth.
