Learning “transformation peace” the flower in the gun barrel stands for?

the flower was a symbol of peace and the rifle was a symbol for war.  placing the flower in the barrel of the gun was a representation of peace over.  this poem was written as part of an anti-war movement.  i think it was the  vietnam   war  were protesters placed flowers on the guns of national guardsmen.

answer: it puts the reader in the place of the elizabethan who has to pay fines for eating meat
