What did higgins mean when he told pickering that this is an age of upstarts?

Higgins meant to imply that everyone has the chance to make something out of their lives. An individual may work for whatever he dreamed of, and be successful. It is the age when "dreams can come true".

George Bernard Shaw's play "Pygmalion" tells the story of how a lowly girl Eliza Dolittle transformed from poor to a classy English woman/lady. The process not only gave her a new start in life, changing her life and appearance but it also gave a new-found confidence in her own self.

In Act I, when Professor Higgins told Colonel Pickering that "this is an age of upstarts", he meant that it is possible to do anything. The "rags-to-riches" stories are possible, and that one can do anything to change his life. "Upstart" is a new start for anything, so he must have implied that even he r Pickering or anybody for that matter, is capable of making his dreams come true.

use" was written by alice walker. this is a story about two sisters, dee

and maggie wanting to have the handmade quilt. maggie wants to use the thing

for its purpose, while dee appreciates it for being “her heritage”.   the quilt represents family heritage. it was

believed that only dedication and years of hard work can represent a  quilt. 

mama decided to give

the quilts to her less fortunate daughter, maggie because she believed that dee

could not hold the true meaning of their family heritage and   that she would not use the quilts for their

purpose. however, dee believed that maggie can’t appreciate the quilts just as

how she sees them, and she thought that the quilt will be put to “everyday use”

by maggie and within 5 years or so, the quilt will turn into a rag. in the story, dee strongly believed that maggie do not deserve the quilts.

depends on your school

when i was in high school i took ap biology my senior year and it was the hardest one for me because my teacher finished the material within the first month of school and then went on to doing advanced college level it was horrible. but at a nearby school ap biology was one of the easier aps. also, it depends on what you are interested i like math a lot so ap calculus was easier for me than most but i hate history so ap us government was harder for me than most.
