There are many strategies that you can use to improve your vocabulary. which strategy would not be a useful tactic

In my opinion, an effective strategy would be to memorize definitions of random words that are not part  of your lexicon.

On the other hand, in my experience one of the most effective strategies is to read as much as possible and look up in the dictionary every word you bump into that's unfamiliar to you
