student work sample to use for collaboration project:
"eww, jellyfish! " everyone says that right? "what is good about them? they only sting, swim and are gross." i bet a lot of people say. jellyfish are reproducing too fast and are ruining beaches and rivers. but does that mean that we need to kill them with technology or just kill them? i don't think so. why should they not kill them with robots and how can we just get rid of them by the beaches or power plants? read on! also, readers will see some mind-blowing facts! they are very interesting!

first of all, according to factsspy. net, one single jellyfish can lay up to 45,000 eggs daily! no wonder so many jellyfish. also, as stated in jellywatch. org, most jellyfish only live up to a year and some only live for a couple days. i bet a lot of people are happy that they have a short-life span because no one wants a jellyfish to live for 10 years! but, why do they clog up power plants and sting people? why are there so many? "what about the jellyfish-killing robots? " everyone is probably asking. oh, those! read on to see!
have you heard of the robots? the ones that are trying to find big jellyfish and petite ones to shred them? terrible! that is killing nature. the problem is, if the robots shred them up what will happen to the grated parts? well, according to researchers to some researchers shredding them up will only make more jellyfish. according to rebecca helm, jellyfish biologist "…turning some species of these creatures into jellyfish gazpacho could actually lead to more of them. cutting open sea nettles, for example, is actually one way to artificially fertilize them." the way that jellyfish reproduce is by breaking up, so literally, the robots are producing more jellyfish! such a disgrace! what is the purpose of jellyfish and what else can we do instead of making jellyfish reproduce? read on!
jellyfish serve a purpose! do you want to know what it is? well, they protect fish from their predators! the fish hide in between the jellyfish' tentacles to hide from their predators. so you can call jellyfish heroes! ha-ha! i hope the fish the jellyfish. we could find another way to keep jellyfish away from power plants and from beaches. we could possibly put nets up by power plants and by the beaches so they do not affect people or power plants. we also could make robots swallow up jellyfish (sting-resistant) to turn them into caramel candy or to make electricity or energy out of them. cool, right?

well, it's said that people want to kill jellyfish but also no one wants to get stung. but, they are not just killing, they are also reproducing! crazy! the robots are not useful. also, jellyfish do serve a purpose! to keep fish safe from predators! another thing we can do without killing or reproducing jellyfish is putting nets up or making robots suck jellyfish but, not kill them. you can make caramel candy out of them! eww! well, hopefully i anyone learn some new things and hopefully you do not want jellyfish reproduced by robots. ha-ha!
