Dengan skala itu, bila jarak peta menunjukkan 4cm, langkah penghitungan jarak aslinya akan menjadi seperti berikut:

4 cm x 25,000 = 100,000 cm

Dalam menghitung jarak asli, satuan Km lebih dianjurkan.

Maka, jarak sesungguhnya = 100,000 / 100,000 = 1 Kilometer
