Courage comes in many forms, some physical such as the courage it takes for a soldier to go into battle. For others, it's how they deal with difficult situations or adversity. Some do not know they are courageous until they are put in a position where courage is required. In the book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's stone, The main character Harry Potter was never seen as Courageous. However, Harry proved to himself and everyone else that courage is found in unlikely places.

For example, Harry Potter showed courage when he and his friends faced a wicked troll attacking students at Hogwsworth school of magic. Harry could have easily run away like the other students. However, he chose to go back with his friend Ron to tell Hermione about the troll. They realized the troll was following her. Once they got to Hermione, Harry immediately got on the troll and distracted it so Ron could attack it. Ron used the Levitation Charm spell, which he learned during his wizard class, to levitate his weapon above his head and drop it to knock him out.

Another example is that Harry and his friends Ron and Hermione were attempting to stop Professor Snake from getting the Sorcerer's Stone brave enough to go to the trap door where a mythical creature guarded it. That creature was a vicious three-headed dog named fluffy that would surely attack them if they were noticed, but rather than turn back, they gathered their courage and were able to successfully get past the guard dog. But once they got down, they fell into Devil's Snare Harry and Hermione were able to get out of it, but Ron couldn't. Lucky Hermione pays a lot of attention in the class because she saved Ron from dying with a spell.

The last example that showed their courage is when in the middle of a chess game to get through the gates, Ron decided it was an excellent idea to sacrifice himself in order for Harry to go stop Snake from getting the Sorcerer's Stone. Once they finished the game, Harry told Hermione to go take Ron back to Nurse Wainscott. Then Harry left to go through the gates to which he thought was Snake but turned out to be Professor Quirrell. Harry seemed so confused because he thought Snake was doing this the whole time, Quirrell was the one trying to kill Harry, and he also joined Voldemort's Side. He took the bandage off his head and showed Harry Voldemort, and that leads him to battle him and Quirrell to get out. Once he killed him and Voldemort with his melting hands, he got knocked out by Voldemort's spirit.
