Revising the Essay After you have written your essay, you will need to revise it. Copy and paste your draft from task 1 into the answer space below. Be sure to submit the draft in task 1 and the revision in task 2 to your teacher.

Pay particular attention to the syntax you use, the transitions between paragraphs, and how you juxtapose points and counterpoints. You can use transitional words and phrases such as “for instance,” “as a result of,” and “similarly” to connect your evidence to your claims. State your main argument clearly and ensure that supporting paragraphs transition logically. Your readers should be able to understand how your evidence supports your claim. When you include evidence always ask the question, “So what?” Imagine you plan to include a quote from the novella. How does it help your argument? Discuss your reasoning for including the quote in the essay so that it’s easy for your reader to understand the connection between your evidence and your argument.
