Hello, I heard you were starting 8th grade today. I also heard you were nervous and anxious, but don't worry, you'll do just fine.

There's some advice I want to give you before you continue the year.

First of, Complete your work in time. Don't wait till the deadline is due. You'll get behind on all of your assignments. It's best if you do it right away so you don't have to worry about anything else.

Second, Do your best to not miss a day of school. It's fine if you have a dentist appointment or you have a really bad fever, but don't miss a day of school because you want to. Who knows? The day you missed school your teacher already started on a new lesson that day that you don't know about. Or worse- you could have missed a test.

Third, make friends. Be friends with people who are positive and care about their schoolwork. Like they say, you are who you hang out with.

Fourth, always study days before the test. You don't want to come to school unprepared. Make a to-do list about things you need to do when you get home. That way everything is organized.

8th grade is one of the most important years of middle school. Its a year that's preparing you for highschool. And trust me when I say that highschool will be much worse. But everything will be okay if you do things smoothly.
