Series of items: Used to seperate items in a list. You need a comma after each item listed. A comma before the (and) is called an oxford comma.

ex. Go fetch the tomatoes, onions, and potatoes.

Intro word: The intro word or phrase just introduces the sentence and cannot stand alone. One comma after word or phrase.

ex. However, she did not like potatoes.

Interrupting: usually used to add on extra info, two commas will "box in" the phrase

ex. She walked down the street, Willhouby street to be exact, as she looked for the vegetable shop.

Compound: Both sides of the compound sentence must be able to stand alone. They are conjoined by a comma followed by a fanboys (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so)

ex. She fetched all of the vegetables, yet she still didn't like potatoes.
