Read the passage. This letter to the editor of a school newspaper was written by a student.
What is the main flaw in the student's argument?
The Jefferson Middle School News
1. Other students care little about the issue with
overflowing garbage
To the editor:
2. Officials from the city must be involved to solve
the garbage problem.
I may be the only student who seems to care about this, but I have noticed lately that
the garbage bins in the back of the school are absolutely overflowing with trash. This
mess is making the school look like a garbage dump, and I think something should be
done about it
O 3. Roger has no evidence that the extra garbage is
from local businesses.
The worst part of this problem is that some trash appears to be left by workers from
nearby businesses. I have never seen these employees, but I've heard stories from
friends who have witnessed people putting their garbage in the school bins. It's
outrageous to me that business owners would attempt to save money in this way.
O 4. Roger may be exaggerating about the amount
of trash in the garbage bins.
I'm not sure what we can do about the problem, but I hope our principal is willing to
make some personal visits to these businesses. If that doesn't work, then we should
alert city officials. An official Investigation might be the best way to let business
owners know that we are aware of these unlawful practices. I'm sure they would be
more responsive to an official warning rather than one that came from students.
Thank you for your attention

Select the correct text in the passage. which two lines in this excerpt from shakespeare's romeo and juliet foreshadow the tragic fate of romeo and juliet? friar laurence: so smile the heavens upon this holy act, that after hours with sorrow chide us not! romeo: amen, amen! but come what sorrow can, it cannot countervail the exchange of joy that one short minute gives me in her sight: do thou but close our hands with holy words, then love-devouring death do what he dare; it is enough i may but call her mine. friar laurence: these violent delights have violent ends and in their triumph die, like fire and powder, which as they kiss consume: the sweetest honey is loathsome in his own deliciousness and in the taste confounds the appetite: therefore love moderately; long love doth so; too swift arrives as tardy as too slow.
