Summarize what happened in Maycomb tom Robinson trial in the book how to kill a mocking bird

Tom Robinson is on trial in Harper Lee's novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" for the alleged sexual assult (i would say the owrd but then wont let me post it) of Bob Ewell's daughter, Mayella Ewell. Mayella Ewell approached Tom Robinson on his way home and requested him to assist her with something.

The reader observes the trial through the eyes of Scout Finch, Atticus's eight-year-old daughter. As Scout walks into the courtroom, she notices Sheriff Tate testifying about the suspected crime. Atticus repeatedly asks Tate if he or the victim's father, Bob Ewell, had phoned for a doctor; Tate's answer, "no," causes debate in Atticus' mind.

As the interrogation progresses, Tate claims Mayella was struck on the right side of her face, which Ewell concurs with. Judge Taylor threatens Ewell's removal from court when he takes the stand because of his obnoxious manner. When Atticus invites Ewell to write his name on a sheet of paper, he calms down. Ewell, not comprehending that this will reveal to the jury that he is left-handed and hence a suspect, does it again.Ewell again becomes angry and discontinues his testimony.

Since all parties agree Mayella was hit on the right side of her face, everyone also agrees that the suspect must be left handed atticus then asks tomn to stand and show them his deformed left arm.
