Part 3 of my essay! The Foundation Stone is a holy stone in the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The Foundation Stone is believed by many Jews to be the place from which the rest of the world was created, the first bit of the world to come into being. The Foundation Stone has special importance in Islam as well. According to Islamic belief, angels visited the site 2,000 years before the creation of Adam. It is also thought to be the place where Israfel, the angel of the trumpet, will sound his horn on Resurrection Day. It is regarded as the spot where Muhammad ascended into Heaven on a horse, and Muslims point to a dent in the rock that they say is a hoofprint from this departure.
There are many ways to solve the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians such as the one-state and two-state solution and the younger generation. One way to do this is the one-state solution. This solution would create one government and allow Israeli and Palestinians to live as citizens and have equal rights. This solution will also allow all of Jerusalem and West Bank to be a united state. This will also allow both groups to learn the ways that they are alike and different when it comes to things like family and religion. Many Palestinian citizens of Israel would support a one-state solution because this would allow them to keep their Israeli citizenship. This solution will also allow for Israelis and Palestinians to get rid of their stereotype views about each other. This will also allow the younger generation to see that peace can only be achieved through understanding and allows both sides to help each other rebuild the places that were destroyed during the conflict. Also, any refugee camps in and around West Bank would not have to be moved and the refugees could live in homes around the area if they wanted.
Another way to stop this conflict is the two-state solution. With this solution both Israel and Palestine will have their own state and territories. Jerusalem would also be its own state allowing equal characteristics for all three main religion. This would also mean that Israelis and Palestinians would share the same land and highway network. With the two-state solution it would allow equal citizenship and freedom of movement within Jerusalem. This will allow both sides to live in peace inside and outside of Jerusalem. This will also allow Jews to have their own all Jewish state. Israel and Palestine will be able to have their own self-governing powers over their own state. By encouraging the two-state solution for Israel and Palestine, maintains the equality in the negotiating process for both sides.
