I am not sure if the place I visited counts as important but it holds a great meaning, a memorable experience that I would like to experience again. The city of San Miguel de Allende Guanajuato, a city in one of the central states of Mexico. A city up in the mountain and hill area of Mexico. A cobblestone street city nestled on the side of a mountain. An old stone city that looks like it was carved out of the mountain itself. A great city with old gothic architecture cathedrals with a certain elegance that makes you marvel at them with a sense of amazement and admiration. As you walk through the city it is bombarding your senses, but in a strange and relaxing feeling, a calm and yet chaotic melody. The sounds of the locals on their daily commute, the sound of vehicles honking out in the distance. Walking in the streets in the morning you are greeted by the smell of freshly baked and local food stands, and restaurants opening up, and the smell of fresh rain on the stone, a strangely unique smell. And With the morning comes this wonderful weather you would not have expected mid-summer, of June and July. A strangely pleasant chill that you get in the early morning and toward midday the sun envelops you in its rays and warms you and toward the end of the day that pleasant chill makes it out again, as the rays of the sun start to retreat behind the mountain. If you make it to the top of the city around sunset, the buildings seem to glow a vivid shade of pink like a gemstone, with its radiating glow as if the sun was charging the city structures with energy. And as night descends and everything seems to start to wind down it seems as the city starts to sleep. That calmness as if you are watching a cat sleep. The stone building’s still warm from the day. A calm silence that you would not expect from a city. This place holds a huge importance to me because it showed me that life doesn't have to be high paced and life is better when you take the time to enjoy the little things in life.
