Some of the problems one may face when listening to a lecture include being unable to remember the content being dictated to you. Another would be an inability to write as fast as the lecturer is speaking. One may copy down incorrect information when trying to keep up with what is being said. When trying to write information down quickly, one may be unable to write neatly enough that they are able to read back on their information. If you are too busy trying to copy down as much as you can, you may even miss out on the most important information.

Some students also complained about maintaining concentration during lectures. They stated that on encountering the first few unfamiliar words in lectures, they lose their track of mind and cannot catch up with the rest of the lecture. In fact, they could not direct their attention during the process of listening.
