In the prologue, the alchemist changes the ending of the myth about Narcissus. Narcissus looked at his reflection in the lake every day. But in the alchemist's story, the lake was enjoying its own reflection in Narcissus's eyes. What do you think the author is implying about how we see ourselves and others?​

Narcissus was a disdainful and self centered person.

Explanation:

he didn't stop to look at other people and see them for their insides, he rejected love and loved ones until he found his own reflection in the lake and fell in love with his own beauty, so much so that he didn't take part or notice of the world around him and knelt by the lake every day just to look at himself. (I don't know if this has any bearing but the lake was also in love with its own beauty.) The alchemist on the other hand, paid attention to everyone and everything and wondered about everything. he even wondered about sheep (that passage should be in your story). The meaning portrayed by the Narcissus story in The Alchemist is that people sometimes are too focused on their own beauty and physical things and they lose track of the Soul of the World and the true beauty within the universe.
