The Frightening Storm As usual I will go back using the Anggerik Road. However the sky is getting bleak fast. Drops of rain start to make splotches on the pavement. “I need to get home quickly. Nobody likes it when they’re wet.” I lamented of getting wet because of the rain. My friend will not let me in that condition. I need to take a shortcut – the fastest way home. I sniff the cold breeze from the north. “So east it is. Not going towards the rain, am I?” So I run towards Kashmir Road. I begin to worry when I see a crossroad in front. This part of the road is not familiar to me. I don’t usually use it. When I turn my head back, the rain has already become a torrent and a terrible storm is brewing in the horizon. Instinct kicks in. Primal nature takes over. I run straight and turn sharply left into the bushes. I squeeze through it with my fat body and curse my fate. Another three lawns and I’m home bound. I can feel it in my bones. When I cross the final bush-fence, there I see my friend. He is waiting for me outside the door this whole time. Seeing his face makes me feel calm and gives me the sign that I am home. He opens his arms ready to welcome me. I jump at the opportunity and into his embrace still scared of the experience. He scratches my head and I take comfort in his affection. He lightly stroke my back and said “You’re a wet cat!” and he brings me in.
