We had a saying in our group that met after swimming. Never serve anything that you have not tried yourself outside of the group. What that did is it took all the kinks out of a dish before it was served. If it failed, it meant that you had to do it again, but the group did not have to suffer.

It it says 3/4 cup of butter, then 3/4 cup of margarine wouldn't ever be used. If it says 1/8 teaspoon of oregano then 1/8 teaspoon will be used with a note that says is the 1/8 teaspoon heaping or level
