Luhrmann used the original play to reach the audience efficiently by presenting the Prologue in the form of news bulletin that gives the events a feeling of immediacy.  A prologue is used to give readers extra information that push the plot in forward direction. Authors use prologue for various purposes, including giving background information about the story. Luhrmann presents the play by providing background as well as extra information to the audiences.
