Literature Letter
In your mind, picture a student who does not like to read. This student
believes that reading is boring and pointless. It's not their fault, they have been in
school for the past 10 years of their life, and reading has lost some of its meaning
and joy.
In order to help this discouraged student, write a one page letter to this
student, in which you try to change their mind about the value of reading literature.
Try to think of some of the reasons this student doesn't like to read, and come up
with some counter argunſents. Explain how reading literature can benefit them in
their actual life if they are willing to change the way they feel about reading. How
is literature a powerful tool to grow and become a better person? What might this
student miss out on if they continue to view reading literature as boring and
pointless? Do your very best to convince this student about the value of literature.
It may change their life.
