Why is there no water between the rails in the rebuilt section of the subway tunnel? A. The channel under the rails is carved with smooth right angles and has places for water to drain
B. There are no splintered wooden rail ties that would give way under the weight of a subway car
C. It had not been raining long enough for water from the thunderstorm to reach the rebuilt section of the tunnel.
D. There used to be water there, but the critters that live under the rail ties drank it all.
