A school uniform is a uniform worn by students primarily for a school or otherwise an educational institution. They are common in primary and secondary schools in various countries.

A uniform helps to build "community" and school pride amongst students. It makes planning what to wear be less of an issue, and it helps to erase some of the economic status issues by not having to worry about wearing certain brand labels. It helps to give all of the students a "level playing field."

School uniforms create a level playing field among students, reducing peer pressure and bullying. When all students are dressed alike, competition between students over clothing choices and the teasing of those who are dressed in less expensive or less fashionable outfits…
