racial profiling is the act of targeting a racial minority for a criminal investigation only based on the individual's skin color, and therefore the association of that person to a race or ethnic group.

criminal profiling on the other hand, is the practice hold by police enforcement members, in which they stop for questioning an individual based on his/her appearance and the similarity between them and a suspect the police is looking for. in this case, race can be used for criminal profiling, but eyes color, hair color, height, weight, type of clothes wearing, etc, are also taking in consideration.
