Regardless, I'd say that astrology is not a religion because:

1. There is no system of belief that guides believers. It simply makes predictions but doesn't tell you what to do with those predictions.

2. It is morally ambiguous. There is no right or wrong, and there is no righteousness. Good people are subjected to the same pseudo-scientific laws of astrology as the bad.

2. Outcomes are independent of actions. All religions have a path to follow, and negative consequences if one strays, and corrective actions to rejoin the path. Astrology has none of that.

3. There is no reward or punishment.

There is no reward or punishment.It doesn't deal with weighty topics like the meaning of life and what happens after death.

4. There is no mythology regarding its founder or founding, nor is there any reliance on its past. Indeed, belief in its history is not required to be a practitioner. I would go as far as to say that most believers, including astrologers, don't even know the history of astrology.

5. There is no deity, or higher existence or intelligence to answer to. Nor is there anything guiding your existence except some uncaring equations, planets and stars — none of which can be pleased(appeased)/offended or punish/rewar
