HEL Does scout believe that laws or the hearts and minds of citizens play a greater role in creating a just society? What do you think?

Scout has a lot of questions because she is young. She spent most of her life believing in things because other people believed in it. In her town there was a lot of racism and discrimination and she soon found out that the ‘black’ people are not the ones making her town unsound, but it was the people in it that would throw shame that caused the problems. A just society honestly does not exist in perspective but, a just society is where everyone is equal and has their role to play, regardless of their race or gender.

Overall, Scout’s opinion on this changes through the novel but in the end she realizes everyone is equal, no race or gender is above the other, but the citizens of her town are yet to understand that.
