Using the same general topic, suggest an idea for each of the four narrative types. Ideas can include texts that already exist (Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet) or ideas that you make up (a sci-fi novel about 3 aliens who move to Los Angeles and start a rock band). Possible topics include: shopping, sports, animals, love, war, U. S.A., Mexico, etc… Example
Topic: Food

Narrative: a poem about the autumn harvest
Expository: a recipe explaining how to make raspberry lemonade
Descriptive: a description of the colors, sizes, and tastes of different types of mango
Persuasive: a good (or bad) restaurant review which would influence a person’s decision to eat there
