This is the first half of chapter 3 of a story im working on let me know what you think I lay in my bed staring at the ceiling. I think about what my mom had said about inviting him over to dinner one night. Invite him to dinner? A emo looking kid who can’t even speak english? I can’t even imagine having him over for dinner, having to translate for him at school and then bringing him home and having to translate for my family. That would be so tiring plus I don’t even know this kid and he’s not even that good looking. I sigh and flip over onto my side. I have a test tomorrow and I have no clue what type of questions are gonna be on it. I’ve only been to this school for 2 days.
I end up falling asleep and waking up to my new alarm clock mom got me. Set for 6:30 in the morning. I lay in my bed for a few minutes not wanting to go to school. I finally get up and throw on some clothes I don’t even bother looking for something nice to wear. Today isn’t gonna be a good day at all. I slowly walk down the stairs and into the kitchen but mom isn’t there like she usually is. “Mom?” I call out to her. “In here..” I heard her yell from her room. It wasn't a loud yell, it was kind of quiet actually. I make my way into her room and see her laying in bed. Isaac walks up behind me and punches my arm. “Loser” he says as he walks past me. I roll my eyes and lean against the door frame. I watch as Isaac sits on the corner of her bed. “I’m not feeling too well today,” she says, looking at Isaac. Oh boy I know exactly what this means she’s gonna ask Isaac if he can call crazy Mamaw to see if she can take me to school. “Could you call your mamaw for me?” she asks. “Yes mom of course” he says. Mom pulls him in for a hug and thanks him. He gets up off her bed and leaves the room to call mamaw. I walk over and stand next to mom's bed “are you feeling alright?” I ask “No Olive but I'll be fine tomorrow and I’ll be able to take you to school on Monday” she says confidently. “Stop calling me Olive mom” I say as I roll my eyes at her. I start walking towards the door but then Isaac walks in and we bump into each other. “Watch it Nerd” he says “I’m not a nerd” I say. I punch him in the arm and then quickly run back into the kitchen and he chases after me. Once he catches me and throws a few punches aiming at my legs and then turns and walks back towards mom's room. “Abuse” I yell to him “You deserved it” he says as he flips me off. Me and Isaac used to be really really close sometimes it feels like we’re really distant. I guess you could say we used to be best friends but once he graduated high school and got a job he didn’t have time to pay any attention to me so we grew a little distant. We’re still close but not as close as we used to be. He still won’t let anyone hurt me and Him throwing those gentle punches is his way of showing he loves me. I wish he still had time for me. I wish we could still hang out like we used to but we can't. I guess it’s part of growing up. “mamaw will be here any minute Loser!” I hear Isaac shout from mom’s room. Oh god I don’t want to be in a car with mamaw. She's crazy! I remember a story she told me about when her and my pap pap was younger and in high school she said there was this girl she didn’t like and she didn’t want pap pap talking to her so she told pap pap not to talk to her and one day she was walking down the hall of her school and she seen pap pap standing at his locker with the girl she told him not to talk to she got mad and ended up slamming his hand in the locker. Pap pap is so in love with mamaw and they are still together to this day. I love hearing mamaw's stories but she can be a bit much sometimes. I hear a car horn. I grab my bag and run out the door but before I shut the door I yell “bye” to my mom. I run and hop into the front seat of mamaw’s 1978 volkswagen scirocco. We drove off. “So how’s my Castelvetrano olive been? I hear your mom is in bed sick today what’s going on with her” she asks in a country mixed with a british type accent “Mamaw..My name isn’t Olive it’s Olivia and mom is just sick she’s usually in the kitchen cooking breakfast but today she wasn’t so I skipped breakfast” I say as my tummy growls. “Oh we need to fill you up, let's stop somewhere and grab a bite to eat. How does that sound to my little Olive” she says. I smile at her. “I don’t want to be late to school mamaw” I say still smiling. “Oh nonsense, we're stopping at McDonalds, you need to fill up that tummy of yours!” She smiles at me. She quickly makes a U-turn in the middle of a street and we head to mcdonalds. We finally arrive and pull in the drive-thru about 10 minutes later. We patiently wait our turn. We pull up next to the speaker and mamaw starts talking to the cashier like he’s an old friend that she hasn’t seen since grade school.

i will post part 2 of chapter 3 soon
