audience is the people you are giving your presentation to. You want to convince your audience to agree
with your argument. You can specify the people in your audience by age group, level of education,

tone is the feeling that your words and sentence structure create in your audience. Word choice helps
create the tone of your presentation. It can vary from serious to more lighthearted, from advanced to
more basic vocabulary, and from metaphorical to more straightforward, to give a few examples. Content
