From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be, __
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow, __
And soonest our best men with thee do go, __

Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men, __
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell, __
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well __
And better than thy stroke; why swell's" thou then? __
One short sleep past, we wake eternally __
