Es Prompt: Brown v. Board of Education changed American schools and American society. What else needs to happen for
us to move closer to equality in American schools? Develop an extended constructed response taking a position on
this issue and supporting it with evidence from the text.

Your submission must include all of these:
Introduction 3-5 sentences: Be sure to include elements like a clear thesis statement and an engaging hook. This is
where you include the R/restatement of the prompt and the A/answers to the questions in the prompt. Highlight your
thesis statement in green,
Then use RACE to develop and support your ideas in your CR. This is where you use C/cite evidence and E/explain how
C supports your thesis and connects to the prompt. Be sure to include elements like effective transitions and an E for
every C! Highlight your Cs in blue and Es in red.
Identify a counterclaim/counterargument to your claim/argument/position in your CR. Be sure to include your rebuttal
to the counterclaim. This should be 2-4 sentences placed after the C+E elements.
Conclusion sentences: Write 2-4 conclusion sentences to finish your CR. Include elements such as a restatement of
your thesis and a a short summary of your main points.
