No ideal voice exists, but a natural voice does exist. for years our culture has valued low voices more than high voices, in both men and women. many people, because of the prestige associated with having a low voice, deliberately alter their voice from their natural pitch. this can eventually cause vocal damage. what is the main idea of the passage? using a natural voice is more important than using an ideal voice. a low voice is preferred in men and women. using an unnaturally low voice hurts your throat.
