Describe how edwards's tone changes at the end of the sermon.

Mr. Jonathan Edwards was preacher and theologian. He "is widely acknowledged to be America's most important and original philosophical theologian" and one the of America's greatest intellectuals.  

Edwards's theological work is broad in scope  but he was rooted in reformed theology, the metaphysics of theological determinism and the puritan heritage.

Edwards delivered the sermon in the context of passage Theirs foot shall slide in  due time Deut: 32:35 to warn his parishioners that hell is close at hand  and that they can easily sleep down its depths. However at last of the sermon he shifts his tone from  one solely of warning to one that also contain promise.
