The rising action happens when Romeo and Juliet fall in love. They decide that they won't let their love be affected by the family matters.

The climax happens on two levels: social and personal. Romeo kills Juliet's cousin Tybalt, causing the families' feud to culminate. He gets banished. Meanwhile, Juliet's marriage to Paris seems inevitable, so she arranges a secret marriage with Romeo, with the blessing and instructions from Friar Lawrence. There is also the potion that is supposed to make her look dead, so she could escape with Romeo. This leads to the complication, because Romeo will truly think she is dead, having missed Friar's letter.

The falling action happens after Romeo kills Paris at Juliet's tomb, and drinks the poison. Then Juliet awakes, and seeing her beloved dead, drinks the poison herself.

Finally, the dénouement (resolution) happens when two families reconcile over the tombs of their children. The order in Verona is restored, even at such a high cost.
