The author uses a lot of words in this poem that have a negative connotation, yet she titles her poem "daystar." why? because the character we see in the poem was a sailor on a ship called the daystar because all of the action in the poem takes place during the day, presumably while the woman's husband is at work because despite the subject's grueling work and sacrifices, she is a "star," or heroine, in the eyes of the author b & c
