Amiri Baraka (born Everett LeRoi Jones) was African-American writer whose main themes range from black liberation to white racism. In his poem “Ka’ba” he states that only “sacred word” adequate to activate spells and magic can save black people: “Correspondence with ourselves/ and our Black family.
