Sir Bedivere takes the sword and throws it into the lake. As the sword hits the water, he sees an arm rise up. This arm is clothed in white -- clearly the arm belongs to someone or something supernatural.

When he returns to Arthur, the king demands to know what he saw. The above lines are Bedivere's response. He reports that he saw an arm rise up, grab the sword by the hilt, and drew it under the water. With these words, Arthur knows he is telling the truth and actually did return the sword to the Lady of the Lake.

Of the possible answers given, the first is not correct. Sir Bedivere did not hide the sword. Rather, he followed the king's instructions and threw it in the lake.

Nor is the second option correct. First, Arthur did not speak these words. Second, the sword was not destroyed. The fourth option is also incorrect, for Arthur did not catch the sword -- the Lady of the Lake did.

Therefore, the only acceptable answer is the third one: these lines describe what happened after Sir Bedivere threw the sword in the lake.
