What are postive and negative connotations for "to be common"?

Positive connotations would be that there is as sense of normalcy and acceptance of everyday life.

I find it much easier to argue the negative connotations that is implies an underwhelming sense of being mundane and boring, it could like to low status socially or financially or it could also suggest an insignificance.
