Location of Texas is in the south central region of the country with Houston as the popular city and the 4th largest in the country.  

During colonial time, it was a Mexican colony and an independent state, however, following battle victories it became part of the country. Spanish and English are popular languages in the country and other languages at smaller percentages as well.
