Still, the problem is that people have been used to it and it is one of the cultural traits in India, so in lots of places, especially the rural places, the caste system is still widely used in its original form, and even though it is the 21st century in India there still is millions of people that are segregated and humiliated because of the caste system, and very often they do not have the same rights as the people that belong to the higher castes.
